On Page 233, about 7/10th of the way down the page, the sentence should read, " (corrected version)"TABLE 8.4. CONCEIVABLE HARNESSABLE ENERGY FLOWS,
WORLDWIDE. TERAWATTS (1 TW = 30 QUADS PER YEAR)And the 7th line from the bottom on page 217 should read:
"... flows might conceivably contribute 90 TW. The Department of Energy..."
The table and text previously referrred to "quads per year" and thus understated these energy flows by a factor 30 .A reader at the Pacific Northwest Laboratory first reported this error in July, 2002. I apologize for the error and for not having posted it sooner. The University of Chicago paperback edition of "Megawatts and Megatons: The Future of Nuclear Power and Nuclear Weapons," published January 2003 has the correct version.
